GAIL chief Teotia submits resignation

NEW DELHI, Jan 29 � In a significant development, Managing Director of GAIL, JK Singh Teotia has submitted his resignation following serious criticism over his performance.

According to sources, Teotia was recently summoned to New Delhi and was asked to put in his paper. Teotia has six more months to complete his tenure.

According to sources, the Centre was compelled to review the performances of the managing director following complaints from Govt of Assam and other stake holders. Teotia�s long absence from field at a time when the project was suffering huge time over run has not gone down well with the stake holders. Even the stake holders were not happy with his style of functioning. Sources said Secretary, Chemical and Fertilizers in the last one month held series of meetings with GAIL, Ministry of DoNER and PMO to review the performance of the managing director before finally deciding to take action.
