Future ties with BPF will depend on present situation: Himanta

KOKRAJHAR, Oct 13 - Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday said the 4th BTC elections would be held within December next, obeying the COVID-19 protocols.

Dr Sarma said before media persons here that the state cabinet recently discussed the holding of BTC elections and decided that it would be held within December next, depending on the improvement in the pandemic situation.

Sarma said the BPF and the BJP were in an alliance in the last five years and the relation with the BPF in the state level is still intact. He, however, said the status of relations with the BPF in the next five years would depend on the present situation.

He also said the relationship with the AGP is also on the right track and they are looking forward the same with the BPF but it will depend on the situation in the next five years.

Earlier, Sarma offered prayer at Bathou Thanshali and also offered a tribute to Bodofa UN Brahma at his portrait. He attended the special meeting of the State Executive Meeting of the BJP ST Morcha in the evening.

Meanwhile, State BJP president Ranjit Dass hoisted the flag of the party in the morning. He also offered prayer at Bathou Thanshali and paid floral tribute to Bodofa UN Brahma.

The CEMs of some autonomous councils, minister Naba Kr Doley and others attended the meeting.
