Fund announced for ex-tea garden workers

GOLAGHAT, June 19 � The North Eastern Tea Association (NETA) has been rendering its services for the betterment of the tea industry of the small tea growers and the middle tea growers covering bought leaf factories, stated Mohanlal Jallan, founder president and adviser of NETA, before mediapersons in a press meet held at the NETA conference hall recently.

In the competitive tea market,the production of good quality tea will enhance the economic growth of Assam Jallan said. In this connection, he said the Jocklai Tea Research Kendra should play its role dedicatedly. For the education, health, electricity supply and other fecilities of the tea workers, the government should lay greater stress for all round development.

Jallan also declared that his family membes would provide Rs 5 lakh to the ex-tea workers and handicapped people of the tea-garden annually.

The Golaghat branch of Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha has been taking necessary actions for providing fund.

The press meet was attended by Monoj Jallan, ex-president NETA, Deepak Dowarah, secretary, Bidyananda Borkakoty, chairman, NETA.

BN Kakoty appealed to the government of Assam to establish �Tea-parks for production of good quality tea in Assam.
