Fuel price hike in Nagaland

DIMAPUR, Nov 11 - Fuel prices in Nagaland are set to be hiked as the Nagaland Government today decided to raise taxes on diesel, petrol and other motor spirits.

Additional Chief Secretary and Finance Commissioner Sentiyanger Aier, in a notification, said that the Government has decided to enhance the rate of tax on diesel from the existing 14.5 per cent to 17.50 per cent or Rs 11.08 per litre, whichever is higher, and petrol and other motor spirits from the existing 25 per cent to 29.80 per cent or Rs 18.26 per litre, whichever is higher, in the State from midnight tonight.

�In exercise of power conferred by Sub Section 3 of Section 3A of the Nagaland (Sale of Petroleum and Petroleum Products including Motor Spirit and Lubricants) Taxation Act, 1967 (as amended), the Governor of Nagaland is pleased to notify the rate of tax as prescribed under Entry Serial Number 3 and 4 of Schedule II of the Act,� the notification said.
