Freedom fighter Dadhora, 14 others feted on President�s behalf

NAGAON, Aug 10 - On behalf of officials of the President of India�s Office, officials of the district administration led by ADC Jayanta Kr Bora, ahead of the Independence Day, felicitated freedom fighter, octogenarian Narendra Nath Dadhora at his Puranigudam Chalchali Birahigaon residence on Sunday and handed over a memento and other items including a recognition letter sent from the office of the President. Along with him, 14 other freedom fighters were also felicitated on the occasion of the country�s independence by the concerned circle officers at their respective residences on the day.

Freedom fighter Dadhora retired as block development officer from Batadrava Development Block in 1984. Dadhora was born in 1923 and was involved in the Quit India movement in 1942 and in 1943 he was kept in prison for more than two-and-a-half years.

Earlier, Dadhora had received accreditation as a freedom fighter from the Centre in 1972 and in 1997 he had got accreditation from the Assam Government.

Receiving the felicitation, the octogenarian freedom fighter said that the State floods should be declared as a national problem a solution to this burning problem should soon be found.
