Free textbooks distributed

DOOMDOOMA, April 29 - In the wake of the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic and following the nationwide lockdown, the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council through an order issued on April 22 promoted all the students of HS first year who filled up the online forms for the HS first year final examination - 2020. Bitupon Hazarika, the Inspector of Schools of Tinsukia District Circle has taken an initiative to distribute government free textbooks of among the students door-to-door who were promoted to HS second year so that they can continue their studies without any break.�

As per the initiative, the IS on Friday visited the residences of some students of Janata College situated at Borguri, Tinsukia along with the UDA of the College Bhaskar Dutta and distributed the textbooks. The District Education Officer visited the residences of the students living in Bojaltoli, Dihingia Gaon, Court Tiniali etc. He also interacted with the students and the guardians on academic matters and gave various suggestions.

The Janata College authority along with the students and the guardians thanked the IS for this initiative.

The IS has distributed these textbooks from the last year�s stock. Depending upon the availability of the last year�s stock, such distribution will be done at some other places in the coming days, informed the IS. It may be mentioned here that the Inspector of Schools, Tinsukia District Circle introduced online classes for the students of the district before the Education department of the State government issued an order in this regard.
