GUWAHATI, March 12 - Sanjeevani Hospital will conduct free PFT (pulmonary function tests) in the hospital premises at Maligaon every Wednesday from 9.30 am to 1 pm in association with Lupin Respira, according to a press release.
The tests measure lung volume, capacity, rates of flow and gas exchange. This information can help healthcare providers diagnose and decide the treatment of certain lung disorders.
Pulmonary function tests are routinely performed on patients when they are diagnosed with lung cancer. The results from such tests help inform the physicians which treatments are appropriate, such as radiation therapy and surgery. People with various lung diseases will be benefited from the tests.
On the outbreak of coronavirus, Dr Bhaben Choudhury of the hospital said the government is doing everything to check it. He requested everyone not to believe in any fake news, adding that everyone should visit the nearest health centre for a checkup if needed and everyone should maintain proper hygiene to keep the disease at bay.
