Free health camp by alternative medicine practitioners� body

GUWAHATI, Feb 13 - The All Assam Alternative Medicine Practitioners Association (AAMPA) conducted a free health and awareness camp on alternative medicine like yoga, naturopathy, acupressure, acupuncture, magnet therapy, colour therapy, seeds therapy, massage therapy, herbal medicine, etc., at Kamargaon, Bokakhat from February 5 to 8, said a delayed press release issued here.

Dr Ganesh Ch Sarma, retired professor of davyagun department, Govt Ayurvedic College, Jalukbari and Anil Kumar Sarma, senior yoga therapist of Guwahati Medical College and Hospital were present at the camp to provide treatment to patients and guide the members of the alternative medicine practitioners� team. Dr Manoj Kr Patowary, president of AAMPA was also present at the camp.

Sashi Bhushan Sab provided acupuncture treatment to the patients at the camp. Porag Hazarika provided acupressure and magnet therapy, while herbal medicine treatment was given by Mofidul Islam, massage therapy by Jituraj Barman and yoga therapy by Dipak Talukdar and others including Champak Ch Das, Shafikul Islam, Bimal Sutradhar, Kavita Baruah, Divyajyoti Ravi Das, Nabajyoti Hazarika and Krishna Nath.

A large number of people suffering from different ailments availed the services rendered by the alternative medicine practitioners.

On the other hand, Bhabani Hazarika and Liza Khound, counsellors at the B Barooah Cancer Institute, Guwahati, teamed up with AAMPA and organised a free cancer and tobacco awareness programme at the camp, the release added.
