IMPHAL, March 25 - Staff at the Imphal campus of the Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD) on Monday encouraged personnel involved in round-the-clock service to prevent the outbreak of COVID-19 by distributing hand sanitizers free of cost.
The hand sanitizers distributed by the IBSD staff were produced by the institute on the basis of WHO-recommended specifications and distributed free of cost to police personnel, field staffs of the Imphal Municipal Corporation and media persons on duty here.
Talking to reporters, IBSD scientist Indira Devi said that the hand sanitizers were produced by the institute considering the inconvenience being faced by people due to their non-availability in the local markets.
Meanwhile, the Youths Forum for Protection of Human Rights on Monday drew the attention of the State Government towards facilitating essential items to fight diseases.
