IMPHAL, April 19 � The All Naga Students Association, Manipur (ANSAM) has appealed to all armed groups in the State, particularly Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP- MC) to free education from fear, intimidation and threats.
ANSAM said the attacks on educational institutions, and schools have been continuing in different forms in the State and the latest ban by an armed group forcing an indefinite closure of all Catholic schools in Imphal is appalling and undignified.
It said such steps will exacerbate unequal access to education and create more gaps and tensions as most students who can afford are already pursuing their studies outside the State. �We need to collectively push and encourage the younger generation to excel in education,� ANSAM stated.
