DIBRUGARH, Sept 14 - The office of the district administration here detected fraud in obtaining a Scheduled Tribe caste certificate from Dibrugarh District Tribal Sangha following a magisterial enquiry.
The administration conducted the enquiry after questions were raised on the genuineness of one certificate of a girl student who obtained it from Diganta Hazarika of Dibrugarh District Tribal Sangha.
Following the detection, the administration declared the ST certificate bearing Sl. No. DDTS/2050/12 dated 28/08/2012 as invalid and void and therefore cancelled with immediate effect. The girl student under question and bearing surname Saikia had claimed to be a Sonowal Kachari.
