BISWANATH CHARIALI, April 22 � Sensation prevailed here on Tuesday when a firm of fraudsters namely �Abhishek Traders� after cheating the local people of lakhs of rupees vanished on Monday night.
According to information available here, a group of people had opened a business establishment near the LIC Building here a fortnight ago and started to sell several items ranging from steel almirahs to electronic goods, mobile handsets to household utensils and many more, at unbelievable cheap rates drawing huge crowds. Later, they began advance booking from new customers for the delivery of those goods. The party also recruited some local youths as salesmen for this purpose. When they amassed a huge amount of money in the name of advance booking, they disappeared from the scene overnight.
The sub-divisional administration sealed the building on Tuesday after getting complaints from the people who were cheated and an inquiry has been ordered. A case has been registered with Biswanath Chariali PS.
