Four ZUF ultras in Cachar police net, arms recovered

SILCHAR, May 1 - In a major catch, Cachar police along with 37 Assam Rifles conducted an operation based on secret inputs and nabbed four cadres from Namdailong area on the Assam-Manipur border.

Cachar SP Mughdhajyoti Dev Mahanta told The Assam Tribune on Wednesday that after initial investigation, it has been found that the cadres belong to the Zeleanrong United Front (ZUF) and they have been caught along with 21 live ammunitions including 10 AK-47 rifles, five 9MM pistols, six M-16 rounds with five mobile handsets and eight sim cards.

The arrested ultras have been identified as Ohed Kamei (29), Namreihing (29), Gaijunlung and Ilang Pame (32), the SP informed.
