Four NDFB women cadres held in Assam

By The Assam Tribune

Tezpur, Aug 4 (PTI): Four women cadres of the anti-talk faction NDFB(R) were arrested and over Rs 12 lakh cash was recovered from their possession in lower Assam's Sonitpur district, official sources said.

The four, along with a two-year-old child, were apprehended last night at the State Transport Corporation bus stop in Tezpur by a police team when the insurgents were planning to cross over to Myanmar via Nagaland, they said.

Police recovered from them Rs 12.16 lakh cash, believed to be extortion money, besides the letters of NDFB (National Democratic Front of Bodoland) Ranjan Daimary '3rd battalion' faction.

The seized documents include six letters of NDFB 'Vice-chairman' G Risikhang about the battalion's resolutions taken on May 10 and June 17 to carry bomb blasts on major bridges and vital installations in Assam, besides proposals for sending certain NDFB ultras to Myanmar, the sources said.
