Four NDFB militants held

DHEMAJI, Feb 9 (PTI): Four militants, belonging to the anti-talk faction of the National Democratic Front of Boroland, were arrested and arms and ammunition recovered in Assam's Dhemaji district, a senior police official said today.

Acting on a tip-off, police held the four ultras along with one kg RDX, three grenades, two revolvers and several gelatin sticks from Uriumghat in Jonai subdivision last evening, Dhemaji Superintendent of Police SR Hazarika told PTI.

The militants of the anti-talk Ranjan Daimary faction of the NDFB were caught when they were on their way to Arunachal Pradesh from Dibrugarh district in Assam after committing subversive activities in Dhemaji.

The four have been identified as Kumar Narzary, Palen Swargiary, Sanjib Basumatary and Dampharang Daimary, he added.
