Four more COVID-19 deaths in Manipur

IMPHAL, Nov 3 - Manipur has reported four more deaths due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, official sources said here today. The cumulative number of virus deaths in the State has now touched 184.

In the last 24 hours, four persons � a 65-year-old female from Imphal East, a 49-year-old male from Imphal West, a 75-year-old male from Thoubal and 71-year-old male from Imphal West � expired at the Shija Hospital and the RIMS, stated Dr Kh Sasheekumar Mangang, a spokesperson of the Health Department in a press release on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, in the past 24 hours, 150 civilians were confirmed positive. The new COVID-19 cases were detected at 23 testing facilities in the State. The cases are from Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, Tengnoupal, Kangpokpi, Kamjong, Bishnupur, Kakching, Senapati, Churachandpur, Tamenglong and Chandel, it added.

On the other hand, a total of 117 persons were discharged from 14 COVID care facilities in the past 24 hours.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 19,241, while the numbers of active and recovered cases are 3,597 and 15,460 respectively. The recovery rate is currently 80.34 per cent in the State.

As of Tuesday, 4,34,383 people were screened at various entry points into the State, while 3,58,887 individuals were tested for the disease, said officials.
