Four employees of Tripura Gramin Bank kidnapped

AGARTALA, Nov 25 - Four Tripura Gramin Bank (TGB) staff, including a Manager were kidnapped by unknown miscreants while they were returning from Tadidu in Gomati district, sources confirmed here on Saturday.

Tanmoy Bhattacharjee (Manager), Assistant Manager Raktim Bhowmik, Sujit Dey (Asst Manager) and Subrata Debbarma (Group-d) were on way to their respective homes after performing official duties TGB, Taidu branch on Friday evening.

When contacted, DGP AK Sukla said four bank staff of TGB Taidu branch, who left the office on Friday evening, did not return home.

�There was no report of militant or arms gang�s presence in and around the area. As of now, we have started investigation assuming that the case is of a missing in nature. Once police find it out, we will let you know�, he told the media.

Senior police officers rushed to the spot and launched search operations to trace the �missing� bank personnel out. The incident has sparked off a sense of insecurity among the bank officials and staff who are engaged in the rural and tribal dominated areas.

It has been reported that kidnappers demanded 40 lakh for the release of the bank employees.
