IMPHAL, March 4 - Assam Rifles troops apprehended four arms smugglers from Torbung in Manipur�s Churachandpur district, according to army sources.
Based on information regarding the movement of four suspected persons from Moirang to Churachandpur with weapons, the Assam Rifles troops launched an operation on Sunday and apprehended four arms smugglers along with weapons, said PRO Defence Wing in a release.
The troops also seized one 9 mm country made pistol along with magazine, two live rounds of 9 mm, one Honda Activa scooter, and cash of Rs 1660 on Sunday night.
Wildlife recovered: One live Tokey Gecko (approx length 14 inch) was recovered by Assam Rifles troops in Khudengthabi, Chandel district on Thursday, PRO Assam Rifles (South) said in a press release.
