TEZPUR, June 19 - As part of the proposed 19 cancer care centres under the Government of Assam and the Tata Trust in a joint venture with the Assam Cancer Care Foundation, the foundation stone of the Tezpur chapter was laid at Tumuki near the Tezpur Medical College on Monday.
The centre will come up in ten bighas of land. The religious function held on the occasion was attended by the Principal of Tezpur Medical College Dr Rajendra Kalita, DC of Sonitpur, Manoj Kumar Deka, Tezpur MLA Brindaban Goswami and MLA of Barchala LAC Ganesh Limbu, besides prominent local people.
