MORIGAON, March 31 - The Morigaon district administration in collaboration with the Tiwa Autonomous Council is going to establish a mega botanical garden and yoga centre at Dandua Beel Tup, a hinterland of Morigaon. The foundation stone of the proposed botanical garden and yoga centre was formally laid by Rajen Gohain, Union Railway Minister on Friday amidst a huge gathering. The estimated cost of the Morigaon Yoga Kendra and Botanical Park is earmarked at Rs 1 crore.
The project will include a children�s park, rest sheds for senior citizens and a big swimming tank. Meanwhile, the Tiwa Autonomous Council�s Chief Executive Member Paban Manta announced that Council will sanction Rs 15 lakh for the preliminary works of the project. An open meeting held on the occasion was addressed by Deputy Commissioner Morigaon Hemen Das who said that the district administration had chalked out the various aspects of the projects which were the needs of the Morigaon town. Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister Rajen Gohain said that he was satisfied over the approach taken by the Morigaon district administration and hoped that project will play a vital role in maintaining the healthy natural environment in and around Morigaon.
