BONGAIGAON, March 10 - Assam Science and Technology Minister Kesab Mahanta and Food and Civil Supply Minister Phani Bhushan Choudhury jointly unveiled a foundation plaque of the District Science Centre and Planetarium at the Eco-Development Park here on Monday.
To promote scientific zeal among the young people and to eradicate superstition from the society, this initiative of setting up a science centre and planetarium has been taken by the state government, said Assam State Technology Parishad director Dr Anup Kumar Misra.
Phani Bhushan Choudhury sought the cooperation of the people for this project and Kesab Mahanta assured that the construction of the centre and the planetarium would be completed within the stipulated period.
Bongaigaon Deputy Commissioner Dr MS Lakshmi Priya expressed her gratitude to the ministers for this initiative.
