NALBARI, Feb 6 � Minister of Health and Family Welfare Himanta Biswa Sarma laid the foundation stone of two model hospitals at Belsor under Dharmapur LAC and Adabari under Barksetri LAC in Nalbari district recently. Each model hospital will be constructed at a cost of Rs 6 crore of which Rs 4 crore will be spent on civil infrastructure and the remaining Rs 2 crore for medical instruments to provide modern healthcare.
Addressing a meeting held on the occasion of the foundation laying ceremony, the minister said that the Government has decided to set up a model hospital in each Assembly segments. In the first phase, 65 model hospitals will be constructed, he added.
He stated that these model hospitals would be completed within two years. Sarma talked about the various schemes adopted by the State Government for better health care. The meeting was addressed by Revenue Minister Dr Bhumidhar Barman and former Finance Minister Nilamani Sen Deka.
