Foundation of flyover laid at Tinsukia

TINSUKIA, Sept 17 - Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today laid the foundation stone of the long due flyover connecting the north and south Tinsukia at Tinkunia Pukhuri. The flyover will connect the GNB and AT Roads with Sripuria by crossing over the Dibrugarh-Tinsukia Railway line.

Laying the foundation of the Rs 60.21-crore project, Sonowal stated that the flyover would change the lifeline of Tinsukia as it will not only ease traffic jams but also help the people of both sides in smooth movement. Speaking in a meeting held on the occasion at the Golap Chandra Rabi Chandra Natya Mandir here today, the Chief Minister added that his Government was committed to uplift the status of all the sectors like, road communication, health, agriculture, education, industrial etc., for the welfare of the people of the State.

Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, Minister of PWD, Government of Assam said that his commitment to the people of the state for better road communication had been fulfilled with the improvement of roads of the state. Rmeswar Teli, Minister of State, Dept of Food Processing Industries, Government of India, MLAs of Tinsukia, Margherita, Sadiya and Duliajan namely Sanjay Kishan, Bhaskar Sharma, Bolin Chetia and Terosh Goala respectively, Deputy Commissioner, Oinam Sarankumar Singh, higher officers of both the State PWD and Tinsukia Railway division besides many other dignitaries were present.
