Mangaldai, Feb 18: In a significant development towards internal road communication and scientific drainage system for Mangaldai town, Legislator Gurujyoti Das on Wednesday laid the foundation of seventeen projects out of the total thirty one projects under 14th and 15th Finance Commission.
Deputy Commissioner of Darrang Dilip Kumar Borah, Executive Officer of Mangaldai Municipal Board Kamaljit Sarma and Assistant Engineer of Municipal Board Amulya Sahariah also accompanied Legislator Das in his day-long programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Legislator Das claimed that even though almost a year is lost due to COVID-19 induced situation, nearly ninety five percent of important roads that remained undeveloped for the last fifteen years have been taken up for construction during his tenure as a Legislator.
He further urged the local people to extend their necessary cooperation for timely completion of the works.
