Former Tribune scribe passes away

GUWAHATI, March 22 - Trailokya Bhagawati, who retired as an Assistant Editor of The Assam Tribune, passed away at his Guwahati Club Ambari residence this evening. He was 80.

A man of amiable nature, he was actively involved with the Guwahati Press Club. He had a long and distinguished career with The Assam Tribune. He was a life member of Gauhati Town Club and a member of Guwahati Sports Association. He was president of the Assam Union of Working Journalists and associated with Indian Federation of Working Journalists.

Bhagawati leaves behind his wife, two daughters and a son besides a host of relatives. His last rites were performed at the Navagraha cremation ground.

The Guwahati Press Club has deeply mourned the senior journalist�s death.
