GUWAHATI, Sept 7 - Noted footballer of Dibrugarh district Khireswar Hazarika died at his Naharkatia residence today.
The 80-year-old Hazarika was running a football academy in Naharkatia and was a leading sports organiser. In 2018 the State Government provided him sports pension for his contribution towards development of the game of football in Dibrugarh district.
Qualified football coach and State player Pinkumoni Hazarika is his son.
