Former ATEU president Nagen Kalita passes away

SUALKUCHI, Nov 1 - Nagen Kalita, a former president of the Assam Tribune Employees� Union (ATEU) and noted social worker of Bamundi area near Sualkuchi passed away at the GMCH on Monday morning. He was 78. Kalita was admitted in the ICU at GMCH following a cardiac arrest on October 30. He is survived by his wife, two sons, three daughters and a host of relatives. His death cast a pall of gloom in the region, since he was well known for working for the society.

Kalita retired from the Assam Tribune group in 2006. Many organisations, including Bamundi Tarun Sangha and Puthibharal, Bamundi Raise Gayrah, Bamundi Sports Association, Bamundi Bikash Sahitya Sabha, Pachim Bongshar Anchalik Students� Association, etc. mourned his demise.
