GUWAHATI, March 8 - Former chief advisor of the Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Charta Parishad (AJYCP), Dilip Patgiri is all set to join the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP).

Patgiri today resigned from the post of chief adviser of the AJYCP after his long association with the organisation. He joined the organization in 1980 and went on to become the president of the AJYCP from 1998 to 2001. He later became the adviser and then the chief adviser of the AJYCP. He will formally join the AGP day after tomorrow.

Justifying his decision to join the AGP, Patgiri said that he had always followed regional ideology. He said that he is only shifting from a non-political organisation to a political one. However, he is not contesting the ensuing State Assembly polls.
