Former AIIMS Director visits GU

JALUKBARI, Dec 7 - Eminent ENT surgeon and former director of AIIMS, New Delhi Prof Ramesh Ch Deka and Dr Dipika Deka, Professor, Obstetrics & Gynaecology of AIIMS, visited the Gauhati University recently.

They called on GU Vice Chancellor Dr Mridul Hazarika, Prof HP Sarmah, Rector, Dr Suresh Kr Nath, Registrar, and other faculty members of different departments of the university and discussed research activities in general.

They were felicitated by the Post Graduate Students� Union at its office, where the doctors interacted with students.

Prof Ramesh Deka visited the Department of Bioengineering and exchanged ideas with the faculty members, research scholars and students.

He delivered a speech at the Department of Botany on recent advancements in scientific research in the bio-medical field and highlighted the areas where the Gauhati University can participate in a collaborative way with other advanced universities in the country and abroad.
