�Foreigner� Falu Das�s family accepts body unconditionally

NALBARI, Oct 29 - Finally the family members of Late Falu Das accepted his body without any �condition� four days after his death. His body was lying in the morgue of the Gauhati Medical College Hospital where he died after undergoing treatment for his many severe illnesses during his stay at the Goalpara detention camp. The body of the declared foreigner was cremated at the village Chatemari under Mukalmua Police station last night. The MLA of Barkshetri LAC Narayan Deka, magistrate from the Nalbari district administration also attended the funeral.

The Deputy Commissioner Nalbari, Bharat Bhusan Dev Choudhury told this correspondent that the family had accepted the body without any conditions. Earlier, they had set conditions to accept the body from the hospital. The two major conditions set by the family were that the family members of Late Falu Das must be included in the National Register of Citizens (NRC) without any process. Secondly, no member of his family could be sent to the detention camp. However, the Deputy Commissioner refused to accept their conditions. The Deputy Commissioner further said that the Government will extend all possible legal help to the family. Besides, financial assistance will also be provided to the poor family.

It may be mentioned here that �foreigner� Falu Das died on Thursday at the GMCH where he was undergoing treatment. According to the family sources, 70-year-old Falu Das was admitted to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital on October 13 as his health deteriorated at the detention camp.
