Foreign cos to set up industries in State

GUWAHATI, March 1 - Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Monday chaired a meeting with a business delegation at his official residence at Khanapara to discuss the modalities to set up industrial units in order to make Assam one of the fastest-growing States. The meeting was facilitated by the Indo-European Chamber.

According to an official press release here this evening, Chief Minister Gogoi stressed on the need for forward and backward integration to make Assam one of the preferred destinations for investments. Gogoi also referred to improved law and order in the State which will act as force-multiplier for industrialisation in the State. The meeting discussed possible areas for investment in the State.

Gogoi told the business delegations that there are numerous opportunities for investors to invest in Assam. During the meeting it was decided that Myzen Enterprise will set up solar plants in the State and the Government has earmarked land for the purpose. Moreover, the Brys Group will also construct Medi City in Karimganj town. Four industrial parks would be set up by the Ideal Group.
