Flying activity banned in Guwahati

GUWAHATI, Jan 28 - The Kamrup Metro district administration has banned flying of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) and other kinds of flying activity by any flying club or association in the city on account of the forthcoming South Asian Games.

�In view of the ensuing 12th South Asian Games to be held in Guwahati and Shillong from February 5 to February 16, and as part of activation of Guwahati Integrated Air Defence Centre (GIADC) and also in pursuance of public notice dated October 7, 2014, issued by the office of the Director General of Civil Aviation, New Delhi, the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS), helium balloons or any kind of flying activity by any flying club or association is completely banned from Borjhar to Khanapara,� said a notice issued by the administration.
