Floods hit over 65,000 in State

GUWAHATI, Oct 29 - A total of 171 villagers in 13 revenue circles of six districts have been hit by the fourth wave of floods in the State. According to a bulletin by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority, a population of 65,098 in Nagaon, Golaghat, Jorhat, Hojai, Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong has been affected in the calamity.

The government has set up 42 relief camps in Nagaon, Golaghat and Karbi Anglong and they were housing 22,806 inmates.

Forty relief distribution centres have been opened.

No loss of life has been reported in the last twenty four hours.
