GUWAHATI, June 30 - Noonmati police last night caught two men and three women who were running a sex racket in Urmi Nagar area of Narengi.
The accused were caught red-handed from a rented accommodation. Various objectionable materials were also found in the accommodation.
Assistant Commissioner of Police, Noonmati, Purabi Mazumdar said the main person running the racket was Ganesh Baishya, while Abhay Kumar Giri was the pimp. Baishya allegedly used to run such rackets in other parts of the city as well.
They have been booked under Section 3/4 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.
