Five secure ranks in Darrang dist

MANGALDAI, May 31 - As many as five worthy children of Darrang district have made their names count in the list of top 20 successful examinees in the HSLC examination, results of which were declared today.

Zahid Mustafa of Happy Child English School in Sipajhar bagged the 10th rank with total marks of 576, Vivek Bhuyan of Jatiya Vidyalaya, Sipajhar secured the 15th rank with 571 marks, Nekib Javed of Bhupendra Narayan Dev Jatiya Vidyalaya, Mangaldai 16th rank with 570 marks (100 mark in Advance Mathematics), Raktim Jyoti Bharadwaj of Sipajhar Higher Secondary & Multi Purpose School 17th rank with 569 marks and Bhitali Kausik of Nagaon Anchalik High School in Dipila of Sipajhar area claimed the 18th rank with 568 marks (100 marks in General Mathematics).

Mention may be made here that Nagaon Anchalik High School was provincialized only in 2013. A total of 21 examinees secured the highest marks in different subjects.

In the HSLC Examination, 2016 a total of 10070 students had appeared from 165 high schools, of which 135 are provincialized and 30 venture schools. A total of 1917 students secured the first division, 3092 second division while 1822 secured third division. The Darrang district secured the 10th position (67.84%) in overall performance against the overall percentage of 62.79% of the State.

In the Assam High Madrassa Examination, a total of 693 students appeared, of which 98 secured first division, 227 secured second division and 153 students secured the third division with the overall percentage of 72.96%.

Meanwhile, Inspector of Schools of Darrang district Sadulla Khan as a mark of gesture and goodwill paid visits to all the five schools of the rank holders and congratulated both the students and the teaching staff on their remarkable achievements.
