By Newmai News

SHILLONG, Dec 13 - Meghalaya Police have recovered five pistols suspected of belonging to Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) from Patalgre village in Durama Range of East Garo Hills district on Saturday.

The pistols were recovered during a search conducted in the area by the SF-10 commandos of Meghalaya Police.

As part of our continuous effort to trace weapons hidden by militants in the jungles of Durama range, we recovered five 7.65 mm automatic pistols believed to be of the GNLA, East Garo Hills SP BA Sangma said.

After receiving a tip-off about weapons hidden by militants in the village, the SF-10 personnel led by senior police officers carried out a search and recovered the weapons.

The pistols have developed rust apparently because they remained beneath the ground for a long time.
