AIZAWL, Dec 17 - Mizoram today reported five new cases of the novel coronavirus, which took the State�s COVID-19 tally to 4,085.
The new cases were detected after rapid antigen tests of 530 samples. On the other hand, 235 samples sent to the Zoram Medical College RT-PCR laboratory here and the 162 samples tested at the TrueNat laboratories of district hospitals were found to be negative.
Three of the new cases were reported from Lawngtlai district and one each from Aizawl and Lunglei districts. All of them have been locally infected.
The active cases of Mizoram today stood at 171, while 3,907 people have recovered from the disease so far. The State has reported seven COVID-19 fatalities.
Mizoram has so far tested 1,68,202 samples. The State�s positivity rate stands at 2.43 per cent.
