Five from Salt Brook Academy shine in HS final exam

DIBRUGARH, June 25 - Five students from Salt Brook Academy here have brought laurels not only to their institutions but also to the district by securing positions among the State�s top ten rank holders in the Class 12 board exam conducted by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC).

Krishna Maheswari from Salt Brook Academy grabbed the top rank (1st) in the Commerce stream, scoring an aggregate 471 marks. She secured 96 in English, 87 in Alternative English, 94 in Accountancy, 95 in Business Studies, 99 in Economics and 97 in Mathematics.

After learning about her rank, Krishna said, �As soon as we received the good news, all of us burst into joy. My parents became emotional. I did expect rank but I was not confident about securing the 1st rank.� Krishna, daughter of Binod Maheswari and Binita Maheswari from Naliapool, has dual aims.�

She desires to be a chartered accountant (CA) and also aims at cracking UPSC and APSC exams

Prerona Dowerh and Astha Chowdhury from Salt Brook Academy grabbed 5th rank in the Commerce stream with an aggregate 460 marks each. The leading educational institute also produced one topper each from its science and arts streams. Arjun Buragohain bagged 6th position from Science stream from the same institute while Annashree Mahanta from arts stream secured 7th position among the list of top ten toppers.

Prerona is the daughter of Pabal Dowerah and Ruby Dowerah from Chiring Chapori. She scored 95 in English, 86 in Alternative English, 88 in Accountancy, 97 in Business Studies,�94 in Economics and 72 in Mathematics. Asked about her further studies, Prerona said she wants to pursue cost management accounting (CMA).

Astha Chowdhury is the daughter of Ashok Chowdhury and Deepa Chowdhury from Jaipur, Naharkatia. She secured 93 in English, 87 in Alternative English, 89 in Accountancy, 98 in Business Studies,�96 in Banking and 92 in Economics. Astha wants to pursue her higher studies at Tezpur University and become a company secretary.�

Arjun Buragohain, the 6th rank holder from Science stream of the institute hails from Parbotipur, Sonari. He secured an aggregate 477 marks. He is the son of Ranjip Chandra Buragohain and Beena Baruah. He is planning to crack NEET and JEE exams. �If I am unable to clear the entrance, I will go for general studies in chemistry,� he told�The Assam Tribune.

Annashree Mahanta, the 7th rank holder in the Arts stream from Salt Brook Academy, is from Talap, Doomdooma. She scored an aggregate 469 marks. She is the daughter of Kamal Mahanta and Pori Mahanta. Annashree also aims at becoming a civil servant. She wants to pursue her higher studies at Delhi University and simultaneously prepare for UPSC exams.
