Five cleanest GPs of State awarded

NAGAON, Nov 1 - The closing function of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and the State Government�s Mukhyamantrir Nirmal Aru Seuj Asam Abhiyan, going on in the State from October 25 came to an end on October 31. On this occasion, the State-level function was held here on Saturday.

Addressing the function, Minister Rakibul Hussain observed that the Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan started by the last UPA Government is going on in the country now as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The State Government is running the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and the Mukhyamantrir Nirmal Aru Seuj Asam Abhiyan mainly in villages to create a hygienic atmosphere in the State, he added.

Nagaon Deputy Commissioner Monalisa Goawami in her address said that these programmes created awareness among the people to develop a healthy and hygienic way of life.

In his welcome address, PHE Chief Engineer Dipak Kumar Majumdar informed that this programme was implemented in 60 GPs of the State.

PHE Secretary Ashok Kumar Das informed that the best five GPs of the State namely Bhoga and Pub Dharmapur Panchayat of Nalbari district, Bogora GP of Kamrup district, Holou Phukon GP of Sibsagar district, Raidingia GP of Nagaon district and Chinglijan TE of Dibrugarh district were awarded in the function.

MLA Gautom Bora, Mujibur Rohman and other officials were also present in the function.
