First look of feature film Ulka launched

GUWAHATI, June 8 - The first look of upcoming Assamese feature film Ulka in the form of poster was launched today at the Guwahati Press Club in presence of the cast and crew. The film is due to release later this year.

Made under the banner of Eastern Green Pictures (EGP), Ulka is produced by Bhaskar Upadhyaya and directed by Pranab Vivek. The title song of Ulka is sung by Angaraag Papon Mahanta and another romantic melody Torar Dore is sung by Zubeen Garg. Ibson Lal Baruah is the lyricist of both these songs and also the music director of Ulka.

Song teasers of both these songs have been released online in EGP�s YouTube channel and Ulka Facebook page (www.facebook.com/UlkaTheFilm). The music of the film will be released later this month.

The storyline of Ulka revolves round a lively university hostel life. Satirical comedy and elements of humour portrayed in a fast paced plot form the base of the story.

�We are confident of the film�s content to be enjoyed by today�s generation � young and old alike! Few of the incidents shown in the movie are delivered as tints of essential self-reflections and realisation, but on a deeper level, the storyline also evaluates the impact of superstitious beliefs among people. The movie�s storyline revolves around the central character, played by Rupam Chetia, and how his mundane life is catapulted to become glamorous and happening after he falls for a prank by his closest friends,� stated a release.

Notable cast of Ulka includes Amit Kumar Borah, Alishmita Goswami, Pankaj Mahanta, Papari Kalita, Ruma Kalita, Pleasestone Ingti, Dilip Khanal, Satyen Sharma, Bhargav Das and veteran actors Nipon Goswami, Minu Bania, Arun Hazarika, Baharul Islam and Ashim Krishna Baruah.
