GUWAHATI, May 21 - The first floor of Nemcare Hospital has been sealed and the hospital has stopped new admissions after a patient tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday.
Hospital authorities said a resident of Tarunnagar in the city, Raju Roy (32), was admitted with abdominal pain on May 17.
�His surgery was due yesterday. While he was taken to the OT, he was found to have fever. His samples were sent for COVID-19 tests and it turned out to be positive,� they said.
The patient was immediately evacuated to MMCH.
Health authorities have taken samples of all the contacts of the patients. However, the patient�s primary consultant has tested negative for the novel coronavirus.
