FIR over post on Dr Gohain

GUWAHATI, June 2 - The Cordination Committee Against Citizenship Amendment Act, Assam, today filed an FIR at the Dispur Police Station against one Durllav Nath of North Lakhimpur for spreading false news in social media related to eminent intellectual Dr Hiren Gohain.

The committee coordinator Deben Tamuly told the media here that Nath�s social media post spreading false news regarding �death� of Dr Gohain was not just in bad taste, but was also politically motivated.

�Suitable action must be taken against such persons spreading such menace on social media,� he added. The committee has also written to the Director General of Police, Assam, to take immediate action in this matter.
