TEZPUR, Oct 2 - An FIR has been lodged at the Tezpur PS following the desecration of St. Don Bosco�s statue by some miscreants in the Bishop House here on the bank of the river Brahmaputra on Saturday night by some miscreants.
Reacting to the incident, Anthony Ekka of Tezpur Don Bosco High School informed this correspondent that a complaint has been lodged at the Tezpur PS and the district administration urged to immediately arrest the culprits involved. �We will wait for action expected to be taken by the administration. If action is taken, we will be satisfied, otherwise we will go in for a democratic movement in protest against the issue, Ekka maintained.
Our Staff Reporter adds: Allen Brooks, spokesperson, Assam Christian Forum, in a statement said that it was shocking to note that such an incident has happened at Tezpur, which is considered to be the cultural capital of Assam. �This has put us in anxiety. We hope that the culprits are brought to book and the faith and security of the Christian community is restored,� he said.
