RANGIA, Dec 28 - An FIR was registered against Congress MLA Nilamani Sen Deka today for making controversial remarks against Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to the police, the complaint was filed by a person named Benu Dhar Nath of Kamalpur at Kamalpur police station against Sen Deka for his comments.
The police has forwarded the case to Rangia sub-divisional judicial magistrate�s court.
The complaint said that Sen Deka used unparliamentary words against the Union Minister.
Meanwhile, BJP supporters in Rangia and Tulsibari burnt effigies of Sen Deka on the national highway and Tulsibari market separately. � PTI
