TURA, Nov 25 - The All Garo Hills SSA School Teachers Association on Monday filed an FIR against two social media users after their posts allegedly urged teachers to try and attack recently married Tura MP Agatha Sangma and her husband Dr Patrick Marak during their wedding.

The teachers body filed the complaint at the Tura Police Station for intimidation and criminal conspiracy. According to the FIR, on November 21, one Rx Sangma in the group The Times of Garo Hills on Facebook tried to urge the teachers to shoot the duo through sniper fire as they were getting married allegedly using the funds due to the teachers and GHADC employees.

On November 22, one Ringring Ganti in the Information Today page on Facebook allegedly said that the people behind the Rx Sangma post could be teachers or GHADC employees. Ganti also allegedly pointed fingers at Congress workers, saying that they too could have been behind the threat to Agatha and Patrick.

The above persons posted these with the purpose of causing annoyance, intimidation, ill-will, inconvenience, danger, insult, enmity and hatred. They have been persistently making use of social media against the teachers body. In light of the above, we the SSA teachers body strongly condemn such offensive posts against genuine SSA teachers and request you to take legal action against the perpetrators, said the FIR. Superintendent of Police Dr MGR Kumar said investigation was on.
