GUWAHATI, March 25 � The Kamrup Metro district administration has lodged an FIR against the management of a private school for engaging in earth-cutting in a landslide-prone locality.
Officials said the FIR at the Noonmati Police Station was lodged by Dispur Circle Officer Chinmoy Nath on the direction of Deputy Commissioner Dr M Angamuthu.
The FIR alleges that the management of the school, located at Gitanagar, recently engaged in earth-cutting at the nearby hills to build a concrete wall.
The area where the incident allegedly took place had earlier been declared as landslide-prone by the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA).
