By STAFF CORRESPONDENT

JORHAT, Dec 9 - Inspector of Schools (Jorhat), Dr Subhalaksmi Rajkumari, on Monday lodged an FIR at the Jorhat Police Station against an office assistant of Gitarthi High School, Utpal Mudoi, alleging that he had forged her signature in a few documents submitted to the office of the Director of Pensions in Guwahati.

Based on the FIR, a case (2729/2020) under Sections 420, 468 and 471 of the IPC has been registered at the police station.

Dr Rajkumari alleged that Mudoi had forged her signature in several documents that were submitted for commutation pension of several retired employees of the schools in the district.

She said the matter came to light after a letter from the office of the Director of Pensions, Guwahati, was recently received by her office and it mentioned there were some deficiencies in the list of the retired employees of various schools that were sent to the said office (Director of Pensions) for pension.

The letter asked for rectification of the deficiencies and re-send the list to the Director of Pensions office. Dr Rajkumari stated that while looking into the matter it was found that the signatures of her in the letter recommending pension commutation for the retired employees were fake and were forged by someone.

The Inspector of Schools (Jorhat) stated that a departmental inquiry by her office found Mudoi guilty and he confessed to his criminal act.

In view of the act committed by Mudoi, police should investigate the matter and initiate necessary action as per the provisions of law, Dr Rajkumari said in the complaint.
