AGARTALA, July 29 - Taking a serious note of an incident of misbehaviour with a frontline COVID-19 warrior by some patients, West District Magistrate Dr Sandeep Mahatme has asked the district Superintendent of Police to take legal action against the guilty.
Dr Sangita Chakraborty, who was ill-treated by some COVID-19 patients at the COVID Care Centre at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Hostel here, had lodged a complaint with the DM of West district, seeking punishment of the guilty.
Few patients spat on her while she was coming out of the COVID Care Centre on July 25. The police have already lodged an FIR against four COVID-19 patients under the Epidemic Disease Act, 1987 in this connection.
