FINER meets CM, suggests economic advisory body

GUWAHATI, June 9 - A high-level delegation of the Federation of Industry and Commerce of North Eastern Region (FINER), headed by its chairman RS Joshi had a meeting Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today.

The delegation congratulated Sonowal on assuming charge as Chief Minister and expressed confidence that under his leadership, the new government would address the key issues pertaining to the State, so as to catch up with the most advanced states of the country.

The delegation apprised the Chief Minister of the issues prevalent in the State and requested him to take steps to address them for the overall development of the State. The delegation also requested the Chief Minister to take steps for formation of a new industrial policy for the State/region and a Chief Minister�s high powered economic advisory council consisting of people of high caliber � on the lines of the Prime Minister�s Economic Advisory Council � to timely address the key economic issues of the State.

The Chief Minister gave a patient hearing to the delegation and appreciated the inputs and suggestions submitted by it. He informed the delegation that he would soon convene a meeting with the captains and leading industrialists of the region and outside, along with FINER, for enhancing investments in the State.
