GUWAHATI, May 10 - The State sports department has provided financial assistance of Rs 1.7 lakh each to Rodali Baruah and Dipika Hazarika who have been selected to represent the Indian team in the World Taekwondo Championship to be held at Manchester from May 15 to 19.
Rodali will fight in the above 73kg category while Dipika is a contestant in the U-46kg group.
Biswaranjan Samal, Principal Secretary of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department, Assam has handed over the cheques to the athletes today.
